A Party Fit For A Champion!

It was a double birthday bash at Champion Compressor offices all across Australia on Friday September 23. As parent company Sullair celebrated 40 years of global manufacturing, Champion Compressors celebrated 36 years of Australian manufacture. A special event was help at the Champion Compressors' head office in Hallam Victoria.

Wayne St Baker, Champion Compressors Managing Director, said the event was a milestone in Champion Compressors' operation in Australia and surrounding regions. "Once upon a time Champion Compressors was an OEM for Sullair, now we manufacture Sullair rotary screw air compressors for Australia, Asia and the Middle-East," said St Baker. "Our strategic edge is that we know and understand the requirements of our local Australian industry, so we're the best placed to provide customised compressed air solutions."

According to St Baker, this is especially true as the Australian mining and resources industries increase in importance. More than 50 per cent of Champion Compressors business is service and support, primarily for the mining and mineral sectors. "We believe in predictive and preventative maintenance over repair - which is critical in the more remote areas of Australia," he said.

"We were doubtful other compressors would be able to service our air demand as efficiently as Champion’s VOC compressor. Power savings came to approximately $145,000 per year.”
